Crochet Patterns - Shell Edging
Materials: 1 ball of size 30 crochet cotton in the color
of your choice and a size 10 steel crochet hook.
Abbreviations:
ch (chain) dc (double crochet) sk (skip) sl
st (slip stitch) sc (single crochet) sp (space)
Pattern: Work a row of sc around open end of pillow slip,
sl st in
first sc.
Row 1: Ch 3, dc in next sc, * ch 11, sk 11 sc, dc in each of
next 2 sc, repeat from * across, end with a sl st in top of ch 3.
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, * ch 11, dc in
each of. next 2 sc, repeat from * across, sl st in top of ch 3.
Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in first dc (at base of ch
3), ch 2, 3 dc in same dc, * sk 5 ch sts, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) for a shell in next
ch st, shell in next dc, repeat from * across, sl st in top of ch 3.
Row 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in first dc, ch 2, 3 dc in
same dc, * shell in center of next shell, repeat from * across, sl st in top of
ch 3.
Row 5: Sl st across to center of first shell,
ch 6, sl st in third st from hook for a picot, dc in same center sp, sc between
shells, * ch 3, dc in center sp of next shell, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc
for a picot, dc in same center sp, ch 3, sc between shells, repeat from *
across, sl st in third st of first ch. Fasten off.
