
Lattice Ruffle Edging
Difficulty: Easy to Intermediate
Materials: DMC Tatting Cotton: 3 balls White (A), 1 ball Rose (B), or colors of choice; Square handkerchief with rolled or hemstitched edge; Steel Crochet Hook, Size 13.
Instructions:
Rnd 1: With A make loop on hook, work 3 sc before a corner of handkerchief, 3 sc in corner, 3 sc after corner (corner group made), sc along edge of handkerchief (working 16 sc to 1 inch) to next corner; work other corners and sides to correspond, join (with sl st in first sc).
Rnd 2: Ch 1, Sc in joined st, [ch 7, 1 sc] in each of next 8 sc of corner group, [ch 7, 1 sc] in every 2nd sc to next corner group, [ch 7, 1 sc] in each of 9 sc; continue in same way around, join.
Rnds 3, 4, 5: Ch 1, turn, sl st to center of next Lp, ch 1, sc in Lp, [ch 7, 1 sc] in each remaining Lp, ch 7, join.
Rnd 6: Work as for rnd 3 only ch 8. Rep rnd 6 times. Fasten off.
Edging-With B sc in any lp, * ch 9, sc in 6th ch from hook, ch 6, sc in ch just used, ch 5, sc in same ch, ch 3, sc in next Lp; rep from * around, join, fasten off.
