Size: Approximately 90" x 90".

Skill Level: Easy

Materials: Assorted fall colors of Knitting Worsted weight yarn. Each leaf requires about 12 yds. Knitting Needles, 1 pair of No. 9 or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 9 sts = 2"; 6 rows = 1". Each leaf measures 5 1/2" along the center dec line and at widest part.

 

Pattern -

Leaves: (Make 256): Cast on 30 sts.

Row 1: K 13, sl 1, k 1, psso, place a marker on needle, k to end of row.

Row 2: K 1, p to within 2 sts of marker, p 2 tog, sl marker, p to last st, k 1.

Row 3: K to within 2 sts of marker, sl 1, k 1, psso, sl marker, k to end.

Rep these 2 rows until 4 sts rem. Discard marker.

Next Row: K 1, sl 1, k 1, psso, k 1. P 3 sts tog. Cut yarn, leaving 18" for sewing.

Half Leaves: (Make 32) Cast on 15 sts.

Row 1: K to last 3 sts, sl 1, k 1, psso, k 1.

Row 2: K 1, p to last st, k 1.

Rep these 2 rows until 2 sts rem. P 2 tog. Cut yarn leaving 18" for sewing.

Finishing: Sew the last st of one leaf to the center st of the first row of another leaf until 16 leaves have been joined. Make 16 strips of 16 leaves. Place 2 strips side by side with the points in opposite directions as shown in picture. Sew leaves tog, stitch for stitch-the cast on edges are sewn to cast on edges and side edges to side edges. Sew the half leaves along each side edge. Press to measurements.
