Knitted Hat Patterns
These lovely knitted hats will make a warm and fun accessory to go with winter wear for adults and children. Pom Hat
Difficulty: Intermediate
Materials: 2 skeins Yarn 100 % Wool; 1 pair needles size 4
Instructions:
Pattern: Cast on 61 sts
Row 1 Knit
Row 2 Knit increasing 10 sts evenly across the row Repeat rows 1 & 2 twice more for a total of 91 sts
Row 7 K1, *P9, K1, * repeat from * to * to end of row
Row 8 P1, *K9, P1, * repeat from * to * to end of row Repeat rows 7 & 8 for 51/2'', or desired length.
Shape For Crown: Working with the wrong side of the work
P1, *sl 1, K1, p.s.s.o., K5, K2 tog, P1, * repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row K1, 'P7, K1, ' repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row P1, *sl 1, K1, p.s.s.o., K3, K2 tog, P1* repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row K1, *P5, K1, * repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row P1, *sl 1, K1, p.s.s.o., K1, K2 tog, P1* repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row K1, P3, K1,* repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row * P2 tog, K2 tog* repeat from * to * to last
Next Row * P2 tog, K2 tog* repeat from * to * to last stitch, P1
Next Row K1 *P1, K1,* repeat from * to * to end of row
Next Row P2 tog across the row to last stitch, P1
Cut yarn and leave an end about 18' long. Thread this yarn through the stitches remaining on the needle and draw up tight. Sew the side seam with the same end of yam. Trim with a pom-pom or as desired.
Ribbed Hat
Difficulty: Intermediate
Materials: 2 skeins Yarn 100 % Wool; 1 pair needles size 1
Instructions:
Cast on 65 sts
Row 1 * K2, P2 *, repeat from * to * to last stitch, K1 Repeat this row until the work measures 8" or desired length.
Shape For Crown:
Row Row 1 K2, P2, 'K2 tog, P2*, repeat from * to * to last stitch, K1
Row 2 *K2 tog, P1 *, repeat from * to * to last 2 sts, P1, K1
Row 3 P1, K1 across the row
Repeat row 3 twice more
Next Row K2 tog across the row
Next Row Purl
Next Row K2 tog across the row. Cut the yarn leaving an 18" end. Thread this yarn through the stitches remaining on the needle and draw up tight. Sew the side seam. Fold back the cuff to the desired depth. Make a pom-pom from the remaining yarn and sew to the top of the crown.
Brimmed Bonnet
Difficulty: Intermediate
Materials: 1 skein Yarn 100 % Wool; 1 pair needles size 1
Instructions:
Cast on 24 sts and knit 8 rows
Next Row Knit
Next Row Purl to last 8 sts, K8
Repeat these last two rows until the work measures 15" Work 8 more rows, knitting every row.
Cast off. Fold work in half and sew together the seam for the center back of the hood.
Make strings from 2 lengths of yarn twisted together.
