Materials: 2 balls sport yarn, or sweater and stocking yarn, 2 skeins
(color of choice); small amount alternate color of choice for embroidery; 1 pair
knitting needles, size1; crochet hook size 0.

Gauge: 8 sts = 1"; 11 rows = 1".
Back: Cast on 23 (25) sts for crotch. P 1 row, cast on 4 sts.
2nd row: K 4, slip, k and pass,, k 19 (21), k 2 tog, cast on 4 sts.
3rd row: P 29 (31), cast on 4 sts; 33 (35) sts.
4th row: K 8, slip, k and pass, k 17 (19), k 2 tog, k 4, cast on 4 sts.
5th row: P 35 (37), cast on 4 sts; 39 (41) sts.
6th row: K 12, slip, k and pass, k 15 (17), k 2 tog, k 8, cast on 4 sts.
Continue in this manner to dec. 1 st on each side of crotch every 2nd row 7 (8)
times more, having 2 sts less between decreases each time, at the same time
casting on 4 sts at the end of each of next 14 (16) rows; 83 (91) sts. This
completes crotch decreases. Cast on 3 sts at end of next 2 rows; 89 (97) sts.
Work 2 (2 1/2) inches even, end with p row.
Dec. row: K 2 tog, k to within 2 sts of end, slip, k and pass. Repeat
dec. row every 4th (6th) row 5 times more; 77 (85) sts. Work even until
measurement at center, from beginning of crotch is 6 1/2 (8) inches, or desired
length to waistband ribbing, end with k row.
Short Rows: 1st row: P 73 (81) sts.
2nd row: Turn, slip 1, k 68 (76).
3rd row: Turn, slip 1, p 64 (72).
4th row: Turn, slip 1, k 60 (68). Continue to work 4 sts less each row for 8
rows more. Break yarn, slip remaining sts to right hand needle. Jon yarn at left
side.
Ribbing: First row: wrong side, p 1, k 1, p 1, k 1, pick up next st in
row below and place on left needle, p this st together with next st, this
prevents a hole, continue k1, p 1, across row, working all slipped sts in the
same way.
2nd row: K 1, * p 1, k 1; repeat from * to end. Continue ribbing for 1 1/2
inches. Bind off in ribbing.
Front: Work as for back up to short rows, end with k row. Do not work
short rows. Work ribbing as on back, end on wrong side.
Next row: Bind off 11 (13) sts, work ribbing until there are 13 sts on right
needle, k 29 (33), work ribbing on next 13 sts, bind off 11 (13) sts. Break yarn
and join in last st.
Bib: First row: work ribbing on 13 sts, p 29 (33), work ribbing on 13
sts.
2nd row: Work ribbing on 13 sts, p 29 (33), work ribbing on 13 sts. Repeat
these 2 rows until bib measures 1 3/4 (2 1/2) inches, end on wrong side. Work
ribbing on 55 (59) sts for 8 rows.
Next row: Continue ribbing, work 13 sts, slip on holder for left shoulder
strap, bind off 29 (33) sts, work to end. Work ribbing on 13 sts of right
shoulder strap for 9 (10) inches. Bind off in ribbing.
Note: Shoulder strap should stretch to 13 (14) inches when blocked.
Slip 13 sts of left strap to needle, beginning at neck edge work to correspond
to right strap. Sew side seams of front and back.
Left Leg Ribbing: Working from right side, beginning at cast-on row of
front crotch, pick up and k 43 (47) sts on slanting edge to seam, 43 (47) sts on
back edge to cast on row of back crotch; 86 (94) sts. Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for
8 rows. Bind off in ribbing.
Right Leg Ribbing: Beginning at cast on row of back crotch, work to
correspond to left leg.
Finishing: Sew edges of leg ribbing and crotch together. Steam. Cross
shoulder straps in back and sew ends to bound off edge of back waistband, with
13 (17) sts between straps. Embroider in duplicate st, using Anchor chart below.
