Christmas Craft Project - Cross Stitch Ornaments Kindly Contributed by: R. Stevens teammanitou@hotmail.com I like to make ornaments by cross stitching a small item. Then I coat the back of the stitching with a glue like Aleene's Tacky Glue. After that has thoroughly dried, I coat the front as well. When the item is completely dry, cut out the design, 1 block away from stitching. The glue makes the ornament stiff and shiny, and it protects the stitching from unraveling. Thread some gold thread through the top for a hanger and enjoy. I have some I made for my children 8 years ago that still look as good as new, with no cracking or yellowing. |
