Materials: 1 kitchen towel of Christmas design; one ball Christmas Sparkle 100% cotton; Size G crochet hook; any choice of button; sewing needle and thread.
Directions:
1). With yarn needle and same yarn you're going to crochet with, also keeping towel folded as it came when purchased, sew a blanket stitch across top fold (see picture). I averaged about 17 stitches. Weave ends back across. 1). sc in each of stitches just made, ch 1, turn.
2). dec in first 2 sc, sc across to last 2 sc, dec, ch 1, turn.
3). sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
4). dec in first 2 sc, sc across to last 2 sc, dec, ch 1, turn.
5). sc across, ch 1, turn.
6). repeat row 4.
7). sc across, ch 1, turn.
8). dec, sc across to last 2 sc, dec, ch 1, turn.
9). sc across, ch 1, turn.
10). repeat row 8. 11). sc across, ch 1, turn. 12-17). repeat row 11, 6 more times.
18). sc in first 2 sc, ch 3, skip 3 sc, sc in last 2, (this makes the buttonhole) ch 1, turn.
19). dec in first 2 sc, sc in each of the 3 ch, dec in last 2 sc, ch 1, turn.
20). dec, sc, dec, fasten off. **Sew button to front (see pic for placement).
