Free Christmas Crochet Patterns - Snowman Rug

Materials: Size Q crochet hook; 3 pounds or 12 yards of white fabric; 1/2 pound or 2 yards of navy or black, or (fabric of your choice.); Embellishments of your choice.

Note: Prepare fabric by cutting into 2 inch strips.

Body: chain 5, join in first chain to make circle.

RND (1) ch 3, dc in same, 2 dc in each ch around (10 dc)
join in top of first dc.

RND (2) ch 3, dc in same, (2 dc in each dc) around (20 dc), join in top of first dc.

RND (3) ch 3, dc in same dc, (1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around (30 dc) join in top of first dc.

RND (4) ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (1 dc in each of next 2 dc) around, join in top of first dc.

RND (5) ch 3, dc in same dc, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc,
(2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc) around, join in top of first dc.

RND (6) ch 3, dc in same dc, 1 dc in each of next 4 dc,
(2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 4 dc) around, join to top of first dc. Finish off.

Head: Repeat rounds 1 through 4 of body. Finish off.

To join head and body, line up head with body
(as if you were looking at finished head on top of body.)

Using yarn needle and strip of fabric, use 11 stitches at middle with right sides together to sew head to body.

Hat: Skip 12 stitches from where head and body are sewn together on RIGHT side, attach navy or black fabric (your choice) then ch 3 in next dc, (1 dc in each of next 11 dc.
turn, ch 3, dc in each of next 11 dc) for 6 rows. DO NOT END ch 5 (for brim), continue with sc back around to next side, ch 5 for other side of brim, turn and sc in each sc to other end of brim. Finish off.
Add embellishments as desired.
